'TAKE CARE OF YOUR BROTHER'

IN PROGRESS

‘Take Care Of Your Brother’ is a series of portraits of brothers. The photographs are taken outdoors in settings that hold means meaning for the brothers.

I aim to question what care and closeness look like between two brothers. In our society, we are used to the idea that care and sisterhood go together, but care and brotherhood are words that are rarely heard together. Words and images shape our society. I do believe that in a time where women's and LGBTQIA+ rights are under threat across the world because of both traditionally inflexible and aggressively enforced patriarchal systems, we could use a shift in the narrative about masculinity.

I want to show young boys to see images of two men showing closeness and softness towards each other without it automatically being related to sexuality.
